Brian Oake
Brian Oake is a Twin Cities radio icon whose voice has shaped Minneapolis airwaves for over two decades. He served as afternoon host at Cities 97 beginning in 2001 before moving to mornings in 2012, becoming one of the most recognized voices in the market.
Career
Brian's career spans legendary stints at some of the Twin Cities' most beloved stations — 93X, Cities 97, and Go 96.3. He hosted morning and afternoon shows that became appointment listening for generations of Minnesotans. In 2016 he joined The Current before returning to Cities 97.1 as morning host in 2021.
After leaving terrestrial radio, Brian launched The Brian Oake Show — an independent, listener-supported podcast built around music, popular culture, interesting characters, irreverence and laughter…and sometimes Brian cries. The show was named a Silver Medal Winner among MSP Magazine's Top Minnesota Podcasts.
